Challenges in her journey

A woman, finding her place in a society dominated by regressive ideologies of man, leads her to undergo numerous challenges. She recalls how as a child she was sexually abused by a stranger on a train. Living in constant fear was no longer an option. Mental health was and still is a taboo in our society. She realized this gap in information as an opportunity to start an insightful and open dialogue around mental health and help remove the social stigma around the subject. It was time to bring about a change and help people deal with their trauma and guide them on the available mental health resources.

Her Inspiration and indomitable spirit as a women

She was constantly discouraged by people who told her, a single woman without any stable finances, she won’t really make it. However, her idol Mother Teresa’s ideology kept her motivated who she believed is the epitome of kindness, peace, and unconditional love. She refused to get deterred by the negativity thrown at her by society. “Women empowerment is the freedom to express yourself and live a life that you truly desire. The core essence of a woman’s beauty is felt once she aspires to reach the pinnacle of her potential by not conforming to what society limits a woman can or cannot accomplish,” she finally adds.

Dr. Arpita Chatterjee along with seven of her friends in 2017 registered the Healing Society Movement and Homeopathic Clinic for the commencement of a better world into an NGO at Vadodara. Today they have more than 200 volunteers associated with working for the welfare of humanity, animals, and protection of the environment from across India, the USA, Canada, Denmark, Germany, and Australia.
